Get ready to elevate your food and wine pairing experience with our newly launched Spicy Vines Rubs and Seasonings!

Wine is an integrated part of every meal in our household. Any given night, before deciding what we prepare for dinner, we usually like to pick a bottle of wine first and plan our meal around it.

It is this love for a great food and wine pairing that has brought us to embark upon this project and even further explore the wonderful world of herbs and spices.

Our approach is simple - identify certain flavors and aromatics that not only enhance wine and food, but also create a marriage between the two. We have found that seasonings, more often than not, offer just the taste bridge needed to execute a great food and wine pairing.

Crystalyn’s mother, Rita has also been an inspiration and creator behind this project. Over the years, Rita’s combined knowledge of different cultures and cuisines along with her deep appreciation for the nuances of herb and spice, has made her a bold cook in the kitchen. When Crystalyn went off to college, Rita’s one gift to her (aside from some essential cookware) was a huge collection of herbs and spices. Her advice; smell and taste each individually and use it much like an artist would use a color from a palate of paints. This is the approach that we have taken when designing this series of rubs and seasonings.

Below are the first five rubs and seasonings of our collection. We plan to keep expanding upon this initial selection as we release new wines and explore new pairing ideas. We invite you to try some for yourself, follow our blog and share with us your favorite pairing or recipe. Enjoy!

Behind the scenes

The absolute best part about this endeavor has been taste testing and here is a sneak peak of a dinner where we did just that! Once we fine tuned our first five rubs and seasonings, we had a dinner party with eight Spicy Vines wines and six dishes putting all five seasonings to the test. It was a great success.
