Caprese Salad with Spiced Wine Reduction
It’s spring time! It’s time to eat outside and enjoy all the fresh goodness that exists around us. We love pairing together the timeless combination of heirloom tomato, buffalo mozzarella, and basil with our famous spiced wine reduction. Delish!
1 cup Spicy Vines Original Blend
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
12 oz fresh tomatoes
1 bunch fresh basil
12 oz buffalo mozzarella
1 tablespoon olive oil
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper
Make reduction: on a small pot on the stove warm the wine, vinegar, and sugar to a simmer. Allow to reduce by half, about 20 minutes. Be very careful as it will burn easily!
Slice mozzarella and tomatoes into thick slices.
Arrange mozzarella, tomato, and basil decoratively on a plate or platter.
Drizzle with olive oil, reduction, salt and pepper.
